Environmental Policies.
We use no chemical sprays or artificial fertilisers on the plants or the nursery. All our plants are grown in Organic Peat Free compost.
Most of our plants are raised and propagated from our own stock of seed, cuttings and division. However some plants have come from a non organic source, such as seeds, bulbs etc. and therefore cannot be labelled as ‘organic’. These are ‘grown on’ for sale in the same peat free, organic compost as all the others.
We don’t know of any other nursery that grows plants like we do. Our organic growing methods mean our plant nursery is teaming with wildlife. Newts, frogs and all manner of insects living and thriving in our nursery where the plants are grown. With no artificial chemicals used anywhere in our nursery, we provide a safe haven for our native plants and wildlife to flourish in.
Labeling
All our plants with coloured labels are grown from non organic plug plants.
Any other plants will be from our own stock and have a plain descriptive label .
Packaging
We strive to use reused or recycled pots and packaging, our policy is to try new products and we have experimented with pots made from Miscanthus, rice husks, potato starch and paper!
